International adoption is a last hope to belong to the family of a child who is unable to find a substitute family in Slovakia.
It is undisputed that every child has the right and deserves to grow up in a family circle. Mastering is used to provide substitute family for a child of that person who does not care, and that between the adopted child and the adoptive parents there is the same relationship as between parents and children. International adoption is a last hope to belong to the family of a child who is unable to find a substitute family in Slovakia.
Center as the central authority manages and coordinates the process of intercountry adoption. At present Slovakia is a country of origin, which means that there is a possibility to adopt a child only to applicants from abroad, not vice versa. If the couple habitually resident in Slovakia want to adopt a child from abroad, it is unfortunately not possible yet.
In the interest of international adoption persons residing abroad should contact the competent central authority which has jurisdiction for the State on the Convention on Protection of Children and Cooperation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption of 29 May 1993. Center maintains a list of these central bodies and are happy to provide the desired contact.
